Event season is heating up. I won’t lie. I have a bit of FOMO. #MAICON24 was last week, HubSpot #inbound24, #Obsession2024 and so many others are around the corner. If you know me, you know I love going to events, meeting new folks and networking. There is always great food, and very likley a baseball game at the end of the festivities. Now as much as I wish I could be at all these events, I know it’s not possible….. but in some ways I now I can…. That’s why I’m so excited to work on MatchPoint. This isn’t some marketing bullshit. (Can I swear on LinkedIn? Hi mom 👋) MatchPoint is the tool I wish I had on every business trip. From being stuck on a layover, to finding some last minute dinner plans or somone who wants to explore the city befor the event begins - MatchPoint is at your side. You’re in control when you want to find a match, and it uses our technology to magically match you with people based on professional and personal interests. (Over 20+ data points). What’s most important to know is the team behind it are all people who love events. What we have built will revolutionize in-person networking at events, around events and even travel to events. Whenever you’re open to expand your network and meet folks, MatchPoint is there. No more going to an event with 5,000 people and missing those 3 or 4 people you should have met. Now if you’ve read this far, come on with one more step and join us on the journey. You can get the app now on iOS or Android here: https://lnkd.in/giR9NsGb It’s free for everyone, including event organizers who want to list their events. I hope you enjoy using it as much as our team is enjoying building it. And if we are in a city at the same event make sure we connect. I’d love to grab a drink, catch a game and talk about marketing, community, AI or the future of technology. See you out there!

Here’s how to ACTUALLY build community around your event: (no more starting from zero) You know the drill. Big event is 3 months away. Status of community? Nonexistent. Just like last year, rebuilding begins. Lots of money, time, and a headache. However, our top clients have found the blueprint. Here’s the breakdown you’ll want to tap into: 1. Invest in a platform that does the heavy lifting. Technology is your ally here. Pre, during, and post-event. - Automated reminders and updates - Forums for continuous engagement - Analytics to track and adapt 2. Your event ends, but community is just getting started. All the time and money invested? Here’s when to continue it’s impact. - Load all event content onto event platform - Move IRL conversations virtual - Create the new hang-out hub 3. Host ongoing smaller events year-round. People won’t talk about your last event year-round. - Keep conversations going - Create new relationships - Capitalize on current events 4. Encourage user-generated content. Their stories are your best marketing. - Reward engagement with exclusive perks - Share attendee experiences and testimonials - Host contests for the best event-themed content 5. Go time for your next event. It's not a restart; it's a ramp-up. - Leverage your ongoing community - Early bird content sneak peeks - Exclusive access for returning members Maintain your momentum. Keep your community active. Keep the heavy lifting at event time to a minimum! Anything you would add here? ............................................................................ The New Wave of Eventtech. Here is an update on the event technology landscape. This update refers to Q3 - 2024. —————————————————— I introduced a new category, AI. This refers to AI-first tools, not to tools that use AI within their platform. Still in the making and difficult to assess as many companies say they do AI but the implementation is somewhat limited. —————————————————— This map is the result of my analysis, and experience in eventtech. It is subjective and purely editorial. I added a new category: measurement. Some of the criteria for inclusion in the wider map: * New product features * Revenue milestones * Organic media coverage (no paid placements) * High-profile client sign-up * Recent funding rounds * Country-specific penetration * Recurring presence in online planner conversations * Positive online reviews * Meaningful product launches If I missed you, send me a message by December 15, 2024, with an answer to the above criteria (it doesn’t have to be all of them) and what category fits you best. —————————————————— Disclosure. Inclusion on this map is NOT pay-for-play. I switched to alphabetical order. It was previously random. I have worked and do work with many of the companies listed. However, I also have never talked to many of the companies listed. The map is not up for sale for sponsorship for eventtech providers. This map does not endorse any of the listed companies, and it is not buyer advice. —————————————————— If you want a PDF with clickable links, ask for it in the comments. —————————————————— Did I miss you or a tool, you know? Get in touch and let me know, or send them this post. P.S. If you or your favorite eventtech has been featured, repost this. Let everybody know.

𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭? When you attend an event, do you notice how things are a lot more personalised now? Instead of wondering what sessions you should go to or what exhibitors you should visit, All this information can be hand fed to you and really personalise your journey throughout the event. All based on a few questions you answered when you registered. Pretty impressive isn’t it! The sophistication of technology and what you can do with it in the event landscape still blows my mind! And I am only scratching the surface. With the use of AI and the way the algorithms are becoming a lot more intuitive, You can really start to target specific information based on your attendees needs and desires. Being able to personalise an event experience through using technology can really enhance the value your event offers your customer. It can enrich their interactions and enhance their engagement during their time at the event. Making your event stand out and create a memorable experience for all that attend. What are some other cool enhancements you’ve seen with event tech these days? Would love to know what you won in the comments below 👇 If you are looking for some creative ideas to engage your customers, comment below with the word ‘EVENTS’ and let’s have a chat about how I can help 👇 👇 #eventswithimpact #events #eventorganiser #eventplanning #eventtechnology

Events season is ON, but Registrations are OFF (The 6 ways to change the game) 2024 Event’s season is in full swing. Everyone’s mission? Boosting registrations. But how, is the question. I brought on Tamar Beck to discuss. Here’s the takeaways: 1. Leverage Your Advocates Don’t just broadcast. Engage. Find those who love your event. Use them to attract more. 2. Incentivize Referrals Bring a friend? Get a reward. Discounts, VIP access - incentives matter. 3. Curate Connections Networking's out. Personal introductions are in. It’s about meaningful matches, not just attendance. 4. Market Early, Market Smart Awareness first. Conversion next. Nurture potential attendees way before registration opens. 5. Value Over Volume What’s in it for them? Solve a problem, offer a solution. 6. Learn from Festivals Create a tribe. Offer ongoing value. Sell out without the hard sell. The takeaway? It’s not just about getting bodies in a room. It’s about creating experiences and impact. Strategy for your next event: 1. Start with your advocates 2. Incentivize connections 3. Make networking meaningful 4. Build awareness early 5. Communicate value clearly 6. Borrow from the festival playbook Events are more than numbers. They’re communities waiting to be engaged. ……………………………………………………………………………………………… HiveGPT helps to develop a custom GPT for your campaign or event. Campaigns on Command, powered by the AI Agent swarm. It sure looks like people want a different approach to in-person tech events. There has been response to the event that Nicole Klug and I are hosting on July 18 in Toronto. It's a 50-person event focused on purposeful networking and connections. Our goal is to help you meet as many people as possible and spark new opportuniites. The format is five discussion tables around different aspects of AI and marketing. After 20 minutes, you move to another table to meet new people. Tickets are only $10. They're going fast! The link to register is in the comments. #inpersonevents #events #AI #marketing
