The global fight for #humanrights is inextricably linked to the global fight against #HIV/AIDS. A powerful new report just released by UNAIDS details how ending HIV/AIDS as a public health threat by 2030 is 100% achievable if government, community and business leaders recommit to a human rights-centered approach to HIV/AIDS. Access to #healthcare is a human right and these rights are under severe political and legal attack across the globe, fueled by hate, ignorance, online #misinformation and disinformation. UNAIDS states "the substantial progress that has been made in the HIV response is directly linked to progress in protecting human rights.......[the] evidence is clear that approaches grounded in human rights achieve superior HIV prevention and treatment service outcomes, reduce inequalities in service access, and accelerate progress towards ending AIDS.” Check out their website for the full report and how to take action: https://lnkd.in/gBeM_K7K

Today on National HIV Vaccine Awareness Day, let’s recognize the dedication and innovation of the scientific community in advancing breakthroughs in HIV prevention and treatment. While we've made positive strides with the availability of PrEP, we can't stop there. An HIV vaccine would be a transformative tool in our fight to end the epidemic. In the meantime, we will stay committed in our fight to ensure access to preventative services and PrEP, as well as work to repeal all HIV criminalization laws and ensure legal protections against discrimination to #EndTheStigma. Here are four ways YOU can help stop the stigma against #HIV. Talk about prevention. Talking about prevention of HIV can normalize and remove the stigma from HIV. It helps promote wellness and safe practices. Talk about treatment of HIV. Educate others that people can still live relatively normal lives when treated early and properly. People being treated and with a low viral count can not transmit HIV through sex. Support and be respectful of those who have HIV. Do not normalize disrespect or unfair treatment of those who are living with HIV. When talking about HIV or those who have HIV, use respectful informed language. Having a dialogue is important, so use respectful words when doing so. Have a dialogue about HIV and how to get tested. Scan the QR code to schedule a screening, It's free! #gettested #HIVprevention #956 #RGV

Today, we commemorate #WorldAIDSDay2024. For 21 years, @PEPFAR has steadfastly ensured lifesaving treatment for millions of people living with #HIV across 55 countries. 📌DYK - PEPFAR partnered with Uganda in its FIRST year and rolled out to 54 other countries? PEPFAR currently provides treatment to more than 20 million people worldwide, with millions in 🇺🇬 receiving HIV treatment & prevention services. #WAD2024 #RealResultsRealImpactThese bodies, through their collective efforts, have made significant strides in reducing the global impact of HIV/AIDS, but much work remains, especially in terms of stigma reduction, increasing access to treatment in low-income areas, and funding research for a cure or better prevention methods. #HIV/AIDS #EndAIDSby2030 #Weartheredribbon

World AIDS Day exists to create awareness on the real experiences of people living with HIV today, while celebrating the strength, resilience and diversity of the communities that are most affected. On 1 December, we commemorate World AIDS Day under the theme “Take the rights path: My health, my right!”. This is a call to all global leaders and citizens to advocate for the right to HIV/AIDS healthcare by addressing the inequalities that hinder progress in ending AIDS. Breaking the stigma by sharing information and busting myths about HIV/AIDS will help to create a future where HIV doesn’t stand in the way of anyone’s quality of life. This can be done by visiting your nearest pharmacy or clinic for testing and consultation. Speaking to a healthcare professional about your treatment plan or getting more information on the virus can help clear up any misconceptions/stigma you may have. #AIDSawareness #HIV/AIDS #HIV #worldAIDSday

The resources we need and results we deliver for countries and communities: we have laws and policies against discrimination and stigmatization of people living with #HIV, with millions of people in the #Africa region accessing treatment. Be true to who you are, and transform the globe. At #TajPharma, we aim for everyone to leverage their distinct life stories, skills, and origins, collectively – to ignite innovations that foster a more improved, well-being-focused planet. UNAIDS has been central to the success of the global HIV response and remains just as central to achieving the goals of the Global AIDS Strategy. #UNAIDS must be funded in a predictable and sustained manner so that they can plan and deliver on their mission. There will not be a strong collective global AIDS response without UNAIDS. 📍 The difference we make reaching a clear set of joint milestones by end of 2025.

Take Action Against HIV/AIDS Happy New Month🎉 As we step into December, let's take a moment to reflect on the ongoing fight against HIV/AIDS—a reality that still impacts millions worldwide. Last Thursday, our NYSC SDGs CDS group in Uyo contributed to this cause by organizing a sensitization rally and offering free HIV testing at Plaza Market, Uyo. Key reminders as we move forward: ✓HIV/AIDS is real: Practice safe and informed choices to protect yourself. ✓Get tested: Knowing your status is a vital step in combating HIV/AIDS. ✓Break the stigma: Speak out against discrimination and support a compassionate community. We encourage everyone to prioritize their health and well-being by getting tested and raising awareness. Together, we can build a world where everyone lives with dignity, free from stigma and discrimination. Let’s keep striving for a healthier, more inclusive society. 🎗️ Day 1: World AIDS Day - Breaking Stigma, Spreading Hope 🌟 Had a busy day thought I will break this challenge before it even start 😂😂😂 but say what the chef 👨🍳 is done HIV/AIDS doesn't define someone's worth. Let's champion acceptance, understanding, and support for those living with HIV. Prevention starts with education, regular testing, and safe practices, but true change begins with how we treat each other. Together, we can create a world where no one faces discrimination because of their status. Every person deserves dignity, respect, and access to proper healthcare. Remember: U = U (Undetectable = Untransmittable) 💪 The death rate of HIV/AIDS patients has reduced over the year and it keeps on reducing. It’s not a Death sentence✌️✌️ Looking forward to Day 2! Stay tuned! 🎯 #OneDayOneDashboard #WorldAIDSDay #BreakTheStigma #HIV #DataForGood #Day1

On this World AIDS Day, we stand with those affected by HIV/AIDS, honor the memory of those we've lost, and work to end stigma and discrimination. Three actions we can all take: Educate yourself and others about HIV/AIDS. Support those affected by HIV. Advocate for accessible healthcare and the end of HIV/AIDS-related prejudice. Together, we can make strides towards zero new infections, zero discrimination, and zero AIDS-related deaths. #WorldAIDSDay #EndTheStigma #AIDS #HIV #Awareness #Prevention
