We’re thrilled that our portfolio company ArgusEye has announced today an oversubscribed funding round of EUR 2.8 million.   ArgusEye’s pioneering sensor technology based on extensive academic research at Linköping University, allows for label-free unique in-line capabilities generating real-time data during the bioproduction process. This technology provides solutions to the challenges posed by traditional sensors, revolutionizing the landscape of continuous bioprocessing by supplying essential data precisely when it is needed. Therefore, it facilitates process intensification and continuous processing, with the potential of considerably reducing capital and operational expenses.   ArgusEye has established several important partnerships and collaborations with both industrial and academic partners. Being at an exciting growth phase, the company is planning on expanding on multiple fronts. Medicon Valley is the 2nd most attractive manufacturing location in Europe for life science industry specialist contract manufacturers; CDMOs (Contract Development Manufacturing Organization) only surpassed by Paris! An overlooked, unfamiliar for many but very important part of the life science industry’s value chain I write about in Finans today. At the upcoming Medicon Valley Alliance Annual Summit on Nov 11 (link in comment) we have chosen to put the spotlight on CDMOs (FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies AGC Biologics PolyPeptide Group & Sever Pharma Solutions) They bring considerable investment in the highly specialized production facilities and accompanying a high demand for highly specialized jobs, turnover and exports. In the Medicon Valley, we are experiencing wildly impressive growth for the CDMOs these years and thus applauding the Danish government’s new initiative on red carpet treatment for manufacturing zones which will support this growth. The EFMC - European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology's creation of a working group to fully understand and guide developments in sustainability for drug discovery is a significant step forward. By focusing on this initiative, the EFMC can help shape industry practices, ensure that innovation aligns with environmental goals, and establish best practices that will benefit both pharmaceutical progress and the planet.
