Time is the most precious gift we have.
(Get it wrong, and unlike other f**-up's, this one is permanent)
Yesterday was my daughter Taylor’s 14th birthday. (love you Taylor!)
.. this one hit me hard—time really does fly. I remember holding her as a newborn, feeling like I had all the time in the world to watch her grow up. Now, I blinked, and she's become this incredible young woman, full of kindness, empathy, and love.
Looking back, I question the choices I've made—the work meetings I prioritized, the moments I missed. Each decision seemed crucial at the time, but now I wonder... Did I balance it right?
The truth is, finding a balance between work and life isn’t easy. We all strive to build a meaningful career, to make a difference in the world, but at what cost? The years slip away, and we realize that what truly matters is right in front of us—our family, our loved ones.
It’s simple to say "family comes first." I believe in that. But I also believe in making an impact beyond just my personal life. It’s a constant push and pull, trying to give my all to my work while being present for the people I care about most.
Taylor loves horseback riding. She cares deeply about the world around her. She reminds me daily of what’s important. I hope that in some way, I’ve passed on to her not just the drive to succeed, but the wisdom to cherish every moment with the ones who matter most.
Time is fleeting. Let’s use it wisely. Not just for our careers, but for the people we love.
Because at the end of the day, that’s what really counts.
