Easy way for companies to lower their legal fees: *every* time you receive a contract from another company that's in PDF form or sent for your e-sig, ask them *immediately* for a Word version of the same, and send that Word version to your lawyer. -90% of the time you make the request, the other company will say "no, because we don't accept edits to this document." -60% of the people who tell you that will relent if you reply "do us both a favor and please send me the Word version so we'll both save time and money if my lawyer has edits. I promise we'll try to keep our edits chill." (chill = fancy legal term) -100% of the time you send your lawyer a Word version, you save time and money because your lawyer won't spend time undoing formatting glitches resulting from PDF/Word conversion.
