Music used to be about conversation, live group sharing, unexpectedness and storytelling. It was conceived in the bowels of clashing emotions, be it transaction-oriented or not, and it represented a novel with which you have, whether you enjoyed rhe content or loathed it, to share a time frame and essentially live with the artist & the production. It is now about the skip. No conversations, no live group sharing, just a smudge of unexpected tinsel and now the storytelling is all about the listener, not the artist. Atomization. But how did we, as listeners, reach this peculiar ever-evolving outcome?

At Jammaround, we're on a mission to empower independent creators by providing the first-ever AI music manager (Music Max) capable of listening, coaching, and guiding musicians every step of the way. With the rapid growth of the independent music scene, the need for support and connection has never been greater. That's why we're combining the power of AI with personalized mentorship to help artists navigate their careers like never before. 📊 Here’s why it matters: 7 out of 10 independent musicians experience stress, anxiety, or depression related to their music creation. 😞 51% of musicians report loneliness, highlighting the emotional isolation many creatives face. 💔 44% fear judgment and vulnerability to criticism, which can hinder their creative growth. 😟 In 2023, only 5% of artists globally were signed to major labels, leaving the vast majority without the professional support they need for music development and career growth. But we’ve got their back! 💪 Since our launch, we’ve already helped 5,000+ artists, with over 40,000 chats and 16,000+ songs reviewed. We’re creating a scalable solution that connects artists with the strategic guidance and emotional support typically offered by a dedicated team. 🌟 With Music Max, independent creators can now focus on what they do best – creating – while we take care of the rest. 🚀🎧

Last week I recorded my first ad for the SuperMarketers podcast. It took just a few minutes, and included custom AI-generated music. Here's how I did it (and how you can create your own music with AI). 1️⃣ Choose Your AI Music Tool Two popular (free) tools are Suno and Udio. Both are excellent with high quality output and easy user experience. I preferred Udio’s output for this project. 2️⃣ Define Your Music Style Input your desired style and mood. I went for energetic, fun beats with tags like "electronic," "synth-pop," and "dance-pop." Think Kygo vibes 🏖 3️⃣ Generate the Music Just type in your text-based prompts and let the AI do its job. Yep, that simple. 4️⃣ Edit and Customize the Music I used Descript for editing. Record your ad read, then drag and drop the generated music into Descript. Adjust the volume levels to ensure the background music complements your voiceover without overpowering it. 5️⃣ Finalize and Export Review the final ad, make any necessary adjustments, and export your project. Quick Tips: ✅ Experiment: Don’t be afraid to play around with different prompts and genres. ✅ Balance: Ensure your background music is not too loud; it should enhance, not overshadow, your message. ✅ Stay Simple: Short, simple prompts can yield surprisingly good results. This is the first pass at an ad read, maybe more to come in the future. Creating professional-sounding background music for ads is easier than ever. Thanks to Landbot for sponsoring, and Eric Melchor for making it happen.

I think The Guardian slightly missed the point with this, but it's getting closer to what is going on in music. Let me help... musicians are looking for better ROI, but it's not a one-size-fits-all solution. They are waking up to this, but also everyone is confused because they are trying to copy each other's path to profit. Copying results in some succeeding but most fail. The industry is changing, labels are blocking the paths for the growing market of indie musicians, and different artists have different needs based on so many factors. At HyperTribe, we understand this and are working to ensure that all talent is valued on their own path. This helps us discover gems, reduce inequality and gets them ahead quickly, in their own lane. This article highlights the confusion surrounding the outdated one-size-fits-all approach in tool development in music. What's next? Another universal solution, or is it time for more customised strategies for specific segments? Thoughts or suggestions? #innovationinmusic #musicindustry #musictech #techstartup *Bear with me, as I am dyslexic, so typos may occur!

Algorithms and music. Where do you stand? Here’s the question I have…🤔 The people who complain about algorithmic discovery… Are they moaning because algorithms don’t promote the music THEY like… Or are they upset that humans are no longer making those calls? The human curated music business was not very effective at driving innovation. It led to one thing. Corporate driven mainstream culture. New genres would bubble up in the underground. Like Disco 🪩 Or Grunge 🎸 Or Glam Rock 🤘 Then the corporate world would get hold of it and milk it until it was dry. While a scene was “hot”, good luck getting a record deal if you played a different kind of music. It’s worth remembering that that was actually a dreadful time for true innovation. Remember the tiny “World Music” section of a record shop? I mean WTF. And this was a golden time? Now - literally anyone can test and learn if their sound can find an audience without it costing much other than time and effort. They can find fans anywhere in the world. They can monetise those fans and they can build a career. The algorithms don’t judge what’s hot or not, what’s cool or the next big thing. They just try and put something in front of someone they think will like it. If they do they will send more like that your way. If they don’t they won’t. But ANYONE can play. And ANYONE can win. It’s a free market. And in and among all that there is more innovation in music going on now than ever before. Maybe not in the local charts but they literally meaningless in a global industry. Ask listeners and you won’t hear them complaining about algorithms. Or a lack of music they love. And artists they adore. They are finding riches in the niches. So what’s the problem here really? It’s an industry reeling from being disenfranchised. It’s people with a vested interest in being able to maintain influence for monetary gain (not artistic gain). Guys. And it is, usually, guys. Time to get over it and move on. #musicbusiness #change #creators #innovation #tech

Imagine, "more music is being released today in a single day than was released in the calendar year of 1989." Can you believe it? That's an actual headline on MusicMaker on November 14, 2024. And I've seen that same story elsewhere, too. It's making the rounds because it's a very big deal, it's a very significant milestone, a watershed moment. Now, what does that have to do with #Marketing, #Advertising, #SocialMedia and #ContentCreation? Plenty. Let me explain. So, for musicians, recording and sharing #Music is easier. They can put out more of it less expensively, and that's what they're doing. There's a ton of music out there. A surfeit (as opposed to a dearth) of music is out there. But the same goes with content in general. So, marketers, advertisers, social media people, business people in general, we can take advantage of that fact by creating more of our own content, written or visual, audio or video, you name it. But we have to realize there's more competition than ever for our audience's attention. There's only so much consumers can, well, yes, consume. So we need to create more more *quality* content than ever, and distribute it in as many places as possible. LinkedIn. Instagram. YouTube. Wherever. Then...when we find out exactly where our audience is in those places, where they're congregating online more often than not, that's where we double-down on sharing most of our content. That's where we spend the bulk of our time. And again, we're talking about timely, relevant content that those on the receiving end are not annoyed by, but actually happy to see. It ain't easy, but you can do it. On your own as a personal brand. Where you work on behalf of your products and services. Thanks to the evolution of technology, that's the world in which all of us in business live today. Like it or not, everybody is in the publishing business, everybody is in the recording business, everybody is in the broadcasting business, everybody is doing their best to put on a show. What about you?
