6 years ago I quit my £47k job in London and cycled to Japan. I gave my mum the shock of her life. The truth is when I quit: - I wasn't burned out or in a bad place But: - I was uninspired about the future - I needed to go on adventure - I needed to understand what I wanted to do Turned out to be a great decision to shake things up. 6 years later: - I've been on the best adventure of my life - I've run my own one-person business for 4.5 years - I work at my own pace and according to my own rules - I love helping business owners market themselves better - I am creating content daily that I love making I'm definitely not the richest person around. But money isn't the biggest driver for me. The lifestyle is. As long as I'm comfortable and have the freedom to make decisions on how I spend my time I'm happy. It's not been easy getting here I've probably not taken the easiest route. But you don't always have to be in a bad place to seek out new adventures. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. 6 years ago, £47k job to cycling to Japan? You’re not just grabbing life by the handlebars—you’ve gone full Tour de Courage! Bet your mum's still catching her breath! But let’s talk inspiration. You weren’t burned out, just uninspired, and that is what I love about this post. Most people wait until they hit rock bottom to shake things up, but you just went, “Nah, I fancy a 6,000-mile detour to find myself.” Here’s the burning question: if you were to do it all over again but had to take one piece of tech or marketing wisdom with you from your current life, what would it be? Or would you just pack a better saddle? 😅
Enjoyed hearing of your travels the other day and looking forward to more photos like this. Traveling with my wife really changed me as a per, became so much more confident around all types of people and learnt so much as well. I'm looking forward to doing it later in life again.
Yes Adam! Love this! 🙌🏼 In 2021 we got rid of pretty much everything we owned and went to Ibiza for a year with our 1 and 4 year old. It was the best year ever ☀️
This is absolutely amazing! I made my pivot out of necessity because I was burnt out. But, the lifestyle is also the biggest driver for me. The ability to work on projects with people that fill my cup and light me up. The ability to take break when I need it without feeling like 15 minutes will push me behind. And being able to take time off and be present during some of the roughest moments of my life -- I wouldn't trade it! Thank you for sharing 💛
Good morning Adam glad you do what makes you happy Great photo 👍
