Going through the new ISO 27001 2022 requirements document. Turned out to be more organised than I had expected. Most of it was technical enough to keep my sysadmin brain engaged. Upcoming weeks are gonna be fun updating my compliance-as-code for the same. The ISO 27001 2013 certification will expire on October 31, 2025. It will be replaced by the new ISO 27001:2022. Organisations with an active ISO 27001 2013 certification are required to transition to the new standard.    After the transition period, organisations with expired ISO 27001:2013 certifications will be treated as new clients and will need to undergo a full initial audit. Here’s what I gathered as notes on the new ISO version: - No. of controls have reduced from 114 to 93, most of it due to restructuring. - Documents are not mandatory for every clause, but useful for effective implementation. - No. of documents depends on the size and scale of your organization. - Don’t just think of certifying, focus on implementing information security measures that actually protects your organisation.
