🌟 Reflections from Employee Wellness Week in Cape Town 🌟 In today’s Financial Wellbeing session, we delved into the importance of managing your financial future. Here are my key takeaways: 🔎 Financial Education is Key: Finance can seem complex and intimidating, but it’s essential to lean in, understand, and own your financial journey. The more you know, the better decisions you can make. 🌱 Start Early: The sooner you begin saving and investing, the more time you have to grow your wealth. It’s never too early to secure your future. 💸 Align Risk with Strategy: Everyone’s risk tolerance is different. Whether you're a cautious saver or a bold investor, your approach should reflect your comfort level and long-term goals. Financial wellbeing is crucial for overall wellbeing. It’s about empowering yourself and making decisions that set you up for a secure future. So important to pause, reflect on where you are and plan forward...🚀

🌟 International Men’s Day 2024: Celebrating Men, Supporting Wellness 🌟 Today, on International Men’s Day, we take a moment to celebrate the positive contributions men make in our workplaces, families, and communities. It's also a time to reflect on the challenges many men face and the importance of fostering a culture where men feel supported to talk openly about their health, emotions, and aspirations. IMD is a great opportunity to take part in a global conversation about manhood, masculinity and men’s issues and reminds us of the need to champion mental health, physical wellness, and meaningful connections. 💬 Here are a few ways we can support men in our lives and communities: ✔️ Encourage open conversations about mental health. ✔️ Check in with colleagues, friends, and family members. ✔️ Promote work-life balance and stress management. ✔️ Celebrate achievements—big or small! ✔️ Advocate for accessible support and resources. To all my fellow men out there - thank you for your strength, care, and the roles you play every day. Let’s continue creating spaces where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered. #InternationalMensDay #MensHealth #Wellbeing #DiversityAndInclusion #StrongerTogether

🌏World Health Day 📅7 Apr 👉Learn more about our Wellbeing campaign: https://ow.ly/YqW850R9WW0 --------- 💡What are the aims of World Health Day World Health Day is celebrated on 7 Apr to mark the anniversary of the founding of the WHO and draw attention to international topics of concern around health. 💡How does wellbeing relate to health? Wellbeing and mental health are a more than the absence of a disorder. As the WHO states, "Mental health is a state of well-being in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and is able to make a contribution to their community." At CB we work to advance employee wellbeing in Asia as demonstrated through our commitment to: 👉SDG 3: Good Health & Wellbeing Working with companies to broaden their understanding of work-life harmony and adopt strategies designed to empower employees to be happy, healthy and engaged. 👉SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities Leading companies in developing an intersectional approach to diversity, equity and inclusion, highlighting and examining key issues from a local market perspective, facilitating dialogue and sharing best practices, tools and resources. It's World Health Day! Let's celebrate by recognizing all of the great work we are collectively doing to create healthy work environments and look at how to be even better. According to a study by the Institute for Work & Health, 40% of the employers polled, offered flexible hours as their most popular wellness initiative. The next most popular efforts were working from home policy, physical activity or fitness programs, stress reduction programs, on-site shower facilities, and employee help programs. Each of these was provided by 13 to 15% of workplaces. The results of this study imply that larger organizations with people-oriented cultures, as well as those in the electrical, utility, and municipal sectors, may have more health protection and wellness resources that can be streamlined in an integrated strategy. If you are an employer or organization well-being practitioner or consultant wanting to build a healthy, high-performing work culture that is sustainable, we’ve got you covered. Become a member and we’ll give you all the tools, resources, accreditation, and community you need to succeed in creating streamlined, integrated strategies. Highlighting the "WE" in Wellbeing: A Collective Journey 🌱 Wellbeing isn’t just about us; it is created by us. The "WE" in wellbeing points to the collective power we have to drive change. Our actions, shared environments, and mutual support shape not just our personal health, but the wellness of families, communities, and society at large. 🌍 Our Families & Friends: Wellbeing thrives in connection. I saw this firsthand when my daughter joined my husband and I in Singapore to celebrate my recent graduation from TSPP here in Singapore. The joy of sharing milestones with loved ones deepened my sense of wellbeing and reminded me that our relationships are key to fostering wellness. - When we lift each other up, we rise together. 🤝 Our Communities: Communities build wellbeing through care, inclusion, and support. I experienced this at the National Library Board Time of Your Life" event hosted by Jurong East Library where Seniors, volunteers, and youth came together to share stories, memories, and tools for preserving them, like the MemoryLane App. The cross-generational connection was a powerful reminder of the roles that people of all ages and stages in life can play in nurturing collective wellness. - A community that cares is a community that thrives. 🌱 Our Society: To achieve true wellbeing, we need an inclusive approach. Recently when volunteering as facilitator for the YWCA of Singapore Wellness Weave Workshops for caregivers of people with disabilities, I was moved by the resilience participants displayed and the empathy shared with one another as they spoke about times where their children have not always been able to access experiences many of us take for granted. Wellbeing must be universal, and together we must remove barriers that prevent full participation. - True wellbeing is for all, and all means everyone. Let’s prioritize the "WE" in wellbeing. Together, we can create environments where health, happiness, and harmony can flourish for all. 🌟 I’d love to hear your thoughts—how can we work together to create a culture of wellbeing for all? Please share your ideas in the comments! #Wellbeing #CommunityCare #InclusiveWellbeing #TogetherWeRise

One day can change your whole life. 🌿 A meaningful slogan to capture the essence of Global Wellness Day (GWD). Founded in 2012, GWD is a globally recognised not-for-profit initiative, inspiring the world to reflect on how we can live healthier lives. I am passionate about wellness, but how does it relate to my role in recruitment? The latest CIPD research reveals that 35.2 million working days were lost to work-related ill health in 2022/23; with stress, anxiety, and depression accounting for almost 24 million of these. With employee sickness absence at the highest level reported in over a decade, organisations are ramping up efforts to create positive and healthy work environments. Employee wellness initiatives are not just a trend—they are essential for attracting and retaining talent. Examples I see regularly include: 🏋♀️ Gym membership discounts to promote physical health. ⏰ Flexible working to help staff manage their time and reduce burnout. 🧠 Mental health support, such as access to counseling services. 📈 Financial wellness programs to assist employees in planning for their future. By prioritising our wellness, we can bring our best selves to our careers and provide a better service to our clients. This year’s theme, #MagentaNature, highlights the connection between humans and the natural world. For me, there was no better way to embrace this year's GWD than by immersing myself in the beauty of the Lake District! #GlobalWellnessDay #EmployeeWellbeing #Health #Nature #Wellness
