Achieve Australia’s Post

An inclusive workplace fosters an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute fully. In the lead up to International Day of People with Disability, we are sharing what we know on where to start. Here are 5 ways you can make a difference: 1. Lead by example Inclusive leadership is key. Actively listen, respect diverse perspectives, and show empathy. When leaders model these behaviours, it sets the tone for the entire organisation. 2. Embed inclusivity in your culture Make inclusion a part of your organisation’s mission, values, and everyday practices. Demonstrate that diversity and inclusion are fundamental to your workplace culture. 3. Support mental health Cultivate a space where mental health can be openly discussed, and employees feel safe seeking help without fear of stigma or judgement. 4. Start with simple steps Inclusivity doesn’t have to be complex. Small actions, like adding closed captions to videos or creating clear feedback channels, can have a big impact. 5. Encourage open conversations Create opportunities for employees to share ideas and feedback, ensuring all voices are heard and valued. What’s your top tip for fostering inclusion at work?
