Before and After! Twelve months into ACCIONA’s Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal Project in Perth, the team has built several significant milestones, including: Elevated rail over six level crossings has significantly reduced traffic congestion. Five new architecturally designed elevated stations. Over 1,000 locally made pre-cast concrete elements for the 4km of elevated rail, creating opportunities for future public spaces. More than 15km of track. All overhead line equipment (OLE) mast installations And, we've started construction on the transformative Long Park. With the project scheduled for completion by mid-2025, there’s still plenty to accomplish. #ACCIONAteam #SustainableInfrastructure #InvestInThePlanet

The Gamuda Australia & Laing O'Rourke Consortium recently won an award for Excellence in Social Outcomes at the Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) Awards – but did you know that we were finalists in two other categories as well? Excellence in Environmental Outcomes and Industry Impact. Thanks to our client, Sydney Metro, and our industry partners, we are so proud of the innovative environmental outcomes we have been able to implement on the Sydney Metro West – Western Tunnelling Package. These include: ⚙️ Operating Australia's first Autonomous Tunnel Boring Machine (A-TBM), which minimises human intervention and achieves an 8% energy saving compared to manual TBMs. 💧 Designing and operating the Rosehill Water Treatment Plant which, without compromise, supplies our TBM Operations with recycled water – a first in NSW tunnelling projects. 🌍 Working together with Sydney Metro and Boral to develop a low carbon precast tunnel segment mix with 50% supplementary cementitious material (SCM). This achievement sets a new benchmark for other Sydney Metro projects. Watch the video to see how we did it. #SydneyMetroWest #Innovation #SustainableConcrete #Tunnelling #GlobalExpertise #LocalDelivery #Gamuda Hayley Young Theo Snyman Mervin Nair Ramesh Karnan Stephanie Mifsud Hau Wei NG Evan Morgan Ek-Khai Tan Yan Weng Szeto

We’re getting on with delivering Suburban Rail Loop – a critical project for our growing city and state. We’ve awarded the second tunnelling contract to build the northern section of tunnels for SRL East, with tunnelling to start in 2026. Consortium Terra Verde brings together global leaders in tunnelling, including Webuild, GS Engineering and Construction, and Bouygues Construction Australia. We’re making huge progress on SRL East, with works underway at all 6 stations sites, and tunnel boring machines arriving from next year. The Suburban Rail Loop is Australia’s largest housing project. It’ll mean faster and more reliable travel for Victorians and will help deliver thousands more homes where they’re needed – right next door to jobs, services and world-class public transport. well done to all
We’re proud to have worked alongside Story Contracting Limited, Network Rail and Scotland's Railway to deliver step-free access at Anniesland Station in Glasgow, part of the Access for All (AfA) programme funded by the Department for Transport. Our team provided multi-disciplinary design services, overcoming complex geotechnical challenges to ensure that Anniesland’s three platforms are now accessible via state-of-the-art lifts. These new lifts, built into the existing railway bridge, allow passengers—especially those with impaired mobility, luggage, or bicycles—to travel with ease and confidence. A huge thank you to everyone involved in delivering this critical project on time! #WeAreWSP #InclusiveTransport #Accessibility

Brisbane’s Kangaroo Point Bridge will be the first in Australia to use drones for water sampling and cameras with infra-red sensors to monitor river levels and flood risk during heavy rain. The innovations have helped the city’s newest river crossing, set to open on December 15, receive an “excellent” design rating from the Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC). Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said it was the first Brisbane City Council project to receive an excellent rating. Lord Mayor Schrinner said the rating considered the bridge’s use of renewable energy, employment of local suppliers and inclusion of innovative technology. “In a Queensland first, the construction of a river-based tower crane for the duration of the project allowed for above-water assembly which minimised impacts to the river and the community.” He said the bridge would continue its sustainability legacy once complete, with 75 solar panels to capture enough energy to power the lighting and lifts along and under the bridge deck. “The Kangaroo Point Bridge has been talked about for more than 100 years and we are excited to be able to officially open the bridge in December.” Lord Mayor Schrinner said further down the river, the Breakfast Creek Bridge had been recognised as the Project of the Year and winner of the Construction and Engineering category at the national 2024 Project Management Achievement Awards. He said the Breakfast Creek Bridge averaged more than 2250 crossings a day. https://lnkd.in/gKADtF75 #infrastucture #activetravel #brisbane #bridges Open access to all Newsreel stories: https://newsreel.com.au/ #nopaywall Sign up to the free biweekly Newsreel newsletter: https://lnkd.in/gDGxznVv #news

Glad this one managed to get the go ahead during the allocated canal stoppage window after months of discussing different engineering methods for repair. Lots of time spent with the Trusts Hydrologists due to water complexities at this location especially with the power station abstraction only a short distance away from the bridge. #canalrivertrust #civilengineering #construction #bridgeengineering #networkrail #amco
