A very interesting development from DAZN today🔥 📺 DAZN have announced that all women’s football content will be removed from behind the paywall and made freely accessible for the foreseeable future. This comes as a welcome short term move to help boost the presence and popularity of not only the UWCL, but of multiple women’s leagues around Europe and the world. It is important to recognise that this is not a viable long term solution, and highlights just how volatile women’s sport, specifically football in this case, is as a business venture. This is an area that continues to need our full attention to help strengthen so in the long term things like paywalls are not harming the growth of professional women’s sporting codes worldwide, but instead help to boost its value and environments. To achieve such aspirations it’s up to the clubs, sponsors, media and broadcast organisations to collaborate with all stakeholders and invest across the board in all areas (F.O.House and B.O.House) to drive the growth and sustainability of the game. #womensfootball #womeninsport #football

At first glance, the three-year deal between Netflix and the National Football League (NFL) might not seem significant as it only includes two exclusive streaming matches. This December 25, Netflix will be the exclusive global destination for the NFL’s two Christmas Day marquee games: the Super Bowl LVII-winning Chiefs vs. the Steelers and the Ravens vs. the Texans. In subsequent years, it will stream at least one holiday game each year. It doesn’t seem much on the face of it, so why is this a big deal? There are several reasons.
