There are no short cuts with startups. phase one. excitement phase two. dread & doubt phase three. take all learned lessons, pivot, tweak, execute phase four - learn you never stop building product, selling or hiring. (raising money) phase five - you realize this. you need to push the rock up hill with the entire team. Paul Graham on fooling yourself: "If you're trying to choose between two theories and one gives you an excuse for being lazy, the other one is probably right." Unless you're paying absolutely top dollar for executives, VPs, best in class managers, you need to do the work.
