In the U.S., air ticket booking trends are feeling the pinch as rising aviation costs lead to increased fees. Airlines like JetBlue, Delta, and United have raised their checked baggage fees to offset surging fuel and labor expenses. For instance, JetBlue’s first checked bag now costs between $35 and $45, while United charges up to $50 for a second checked bag. These changes are reshaping how travelers plan their trips, encouraging more people to pack light or seek alternative travel options. Artificial Intelligence is playing a role in helping consumers navigate these changes. AI-powered booking platforms and travel assistants are now better equipped to find deals, suggest optimal packing strategies, and even predict price fluctuations, making travel planning more efficient despite the rising costs. At Accel DNA, we harness AI to simplify complex challenges, from travel solutions to industry-specific applications. Let’s build smarter, more adaptive technologies together. #AviationCosts #TravelTech #AIinTravel #SmartTravel #AccelDNA #InnovationWithAI

Air Passenger numbers to double by 2042 as Gen Z takes flight! Amid so many engaging insights at the Future Travel Experience this week, our thanks to @DavidGriffiths from the Travel Retail Consultancy for drawing attention to the fact that airline passenger rates are set to double - and soon! From our perspective, this is not just about an increase in volume. Experience-driven and tech savvy, Gen Z are much more likely to share their journey online. Scale this up and air travel (including delays or pain points) could potentially feature in the recorded journey of millions. Airlines and airports with better turnaround times 'risk' becoming the preferred choice 😀 . #FutureOfAirTravel, #AI, #FutureTech *Source: ACI World Airport Traffic Forecasts

✈️Navigating the Skies Of Aviation: The Intricacies of Airline Systems ✈️ Some of the major domains are pricing, scheduling, route planning, and most important of all, the Global Distribution Systems (GDS). 🛰️TECH REVOLUTION: The airline industry is currently undergoing a technological revolution. The integration of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and data-driven reporting is allowing for more data-driven decisions to enhance and streamline the travel experience. AI systems are being integrated with route planning systems for airlines, helping them to know which pairs of origin and destination are more searched to increase the profit by flying on that route. It is also dependent on many more factors 🌏HOW IATA IS HELPING THE INDUSTRY ✈️ The New Distribution Capability (NDC) is a modern set of standards developed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to standardize and modernize how airline products are distributed through various channels or how data is exchanged between the airline and travel agencies.NDC allows airlines to offer richer, more personalized content, and provide more innovative and targeted content, understanding the customer's needs. 🔎 What is Route Planning 🤔 Route planning is a strategic process that airlines undertake to design and optimize the flight paths that connect cities, countries, and continents. It involves the meticulous art and science of deciding which destinations to serve, the frequency of flights, and the specific routes that aircraft will traverse. Efficiency in the Airline Domain ✈ : Global Distribution System (GDS) serves as the backbone of the airline industry. It streamlines the complex process of making reservations, searching inventory, comparing prices, checking availability, and managing bookings. With a single point of access, airlines can easily connect with travel agents, corporate clients, and online platforms, ensuring a swift and efficient exchange of information. The most commonly used GDS is Sabre GDS. 💻 🌏 As technology continues to evolve, GDS evolves with it. The travel industry is set to witness groundbreaking innovations, from AI-driven predictive analytics to enhanced personalization. The future is bright, and GDS is at the forefront, steering the course 🚀 #linkedin #aviation #innovation #airlines

Fly[XYZ].com domains are strategic digital assets that leverage the power of the airport's own three-letter (IATA) code, a highly memorable identifier across the aviation industry. This code is already familiar to travelers, as it appears on bag tags, terminal monitors, gates, and itineraries. By adopting this trusted code as part of their online airport address, airports can maximize the impact of something passengers recognize and trust. "Simplified online access, amplifies customer engagement!" This approach makes Fly[XYZ].com domains not only intuitive but also a natural extension of the airport’s existing brand. It’s a smart, forward-thinking investment that takes advantage of what’s already given, transforming the airport code into a powerful online gateway for all customers. #Airports #AirportBusiness #StartupAirlines #Aviation #DigitalAssets #PremierGateways #MarketingTools #OnlineAirports #Branding #AirportAddress

We've all heard the legendary tale from thirty years ago when American Airlines saved $40,000 just by removing one #olive from each passenger's salad plate. Over time, airlines continued to find cost savings usually by stripping down customer experiences in even more noticeable ways. But now, innovative #AI applications are turning this narrative on its head. Instead of stripping back, airlines are uncovering potentially significant savings while enhancing customer experiences—even with just "olive-level" adjustments to their operations. As an analyst at TD Cowen Inc. notes, carriers are deploying AI-driven strategies to cut costs and streamline efficiency, such as optimizing fuel consumption, reducing taxi times, improving baggage tracking, and delivering personalized in-flight entertainment. In the near future, I predict we’ll see many different industries leveraging AI to uncover and remove their own “olives” from the bottom line.

AI is revolutionizing travel experiences! United Airlines recently introduced ConnectionSaver, a new AI tool that holds departing flights for late-arriving passengers and their checked bags without delaying arrival time. This is great news for anyone who's ever experienced the stress of a tight connection. And United isn't alone – Alaska Airlines and American Airlines are also developing similar capabilities using AI technology. #AIinTravel #ConnectionSaver #UnitedAirlines #AlaskaAirlines #AmericanAirlines

How should an airline go about introducing new offerings within their #subscription product? A traveller has subscribed to a particular offering for a fixed amount, say for a stipulated number of flights in a year. How about adding on an air ancillary like #WiFi for a fee? When an airline is aware that a passenger is entitled to take certain number of flights, plus data providing an insight into the profile of the same traveller, how can a carrier make the most of the same by working on tailored ancillary offerings? Explore such possibilities at the upcoming #MegaEvent2024, a conference where Iñaki Uriz Millan, CEO, Caravelo, too, is scheduled to attend as a speaker. https://lnkd.in/gf8qvznD Ritesh Gupta Christopher Staab Curtis Cordeiro JoseLuis Vilar #ancillaryrevenue #revenuemanagement #airlineloyalty #loyaltymarketing
