Debunking some nonsense #beliefs prevalent in #pakistan 🇵🇰 It is commonly claimed by many people in the country and on #socialmedia as well that Pakistan did main work in setting up #Emirates #SaudiAirlines & #QatarAirways. Truth is quite different as follows; Pakistan and its national airline, Pakistan International Airlines (#PIA), did play a role in the establishment of Emirates Airline. When Emirates was founded in 1984, it lacked critical expertise and aircraft. PIA provided support by leasing two aircraft to Emirates, along with administrative and engineering assistance. This helped Emirates to start operations and eventually grow into one of the world’s leading airlines. As for Saudi and Qatar airlines, there is no specific PIA’s involvement in their establishment. However, it’s not uncommon for established airlines to provide support to new carriers in various forms, which can include leasing aircraft, training staff, or sharing operational knowledge. So this خُناس in #pakistani minds that we had the main role in establishing these airlines is highly misplaced and simply self-delusional.
