Entering week 2 of summer vacation, and I can finally start relaxing and reflecting on the school year that just ended. What a ride it has been! It has been hard work, and here are my key takeaways: 🌹 Rose: The increased level of engagement and how students were able to express themselves in writing lessons. Applying UDL principles combined with Ed tech made my lessons more inclusive, laying a foundational step for enhancing inclusion in my teaching practice. 🌵 Thorn: Juggling all my different roles in life whilepursuing academic life was a significant challenge. 🌱 Bud: I am looking forward to finally finishing my Master’s final project, I am on the last stages.🙌🏿 What are you looking forward to this summer? Share your plans in the comments. #UDL #EdTech

One of the most significant elements of my studies at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto at the University of Toronto has been facilitating and attending Virtual Study Hubs. Through hosting and attending Study Hubs, I have learned the importance of creating and maintaining spaces for students to connect, build a community, and receive support in order to achieve their academic goals and earn their degrees. Study Hubs are based on community and collectivity, which is foundational to their success. They provide students with a safe space and a format to follow to accomplish tasks. The community support and accountability within sessions keep motivation and focus high. Having a friendly, positive, and welcoming space is also important for establishing an environment that is conducive to focus and success. Respect is prioritized in Study Hubs, whereby participants’ goals are actively listened to, which gives students a sense of self-determination and appreciation for their contributions. Hosting Study Hubs brings me joy not only because of the work that I can get done but also because I see the impact of how much others are able to get done together. The students of today will not become the leading scholars and community members of the future if they are not nurtured. Scholarly life can take its toll and having support and guidance in navigating the journey is crucial. As part of the Night Against Procrastination (uoft.me/NAP), I will be facilitating two Virtual Study Hubs on Thursday, March 21st. This initiative is designed to support students in managing their time and preparing for finals and projects during a challenging time in the semester. All University of Toronto students are welcome to join via CLNx – let’s finish this semester #strongertogether #ExamReadyUofT #study #education #learning #academiclife #academicsuccess

Christoph Daxerer comes from Schwaz in the beautiful province of Tyrol, but lives in Hagenberg during his studies. Nice to have you with us Christoph and 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗖𝗖𝗛, I attended the episcopal humanistic grammar school Paulinum Schwaz in the lower school and realised there that Latin and the like were not for me. That's why I switched to HTBLuVA Innsbruck Anichstraße, one of the largest vocational secondary schools in western Austria, specialising in electronics and computer engineering. This was exactly the right world for me; even back then I was more interested in computer science than analogue technology. Hagenberg University of Applied Sciences has a good reputation far beyond the borders of the federal states, which is why I quickly realised that I had to do a bachelor’s degree in software engineering there. This July, I completed my bachelor’s degree in software engineering with distinction and have now started my master’s degree in autumn. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗖𝗖𝗛? At SCCH, I am part of the Software Science and AI-based Engineering of Sustainable Systems team and work a lot on projects with Large Language Models (LLMs). These projects involve, among other things, the use of LLMs in the development of complex software systems. The areas of application range from test generation to agent-based source code analysis. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗖𝗖𝗛? I met Stefan Schöberl, who was already working at SCCH, at a FH>>next, and after talking to him I quickly realised that SCCH was an interesting company. During my internship, I then spent four months experiencing the research character of SCCH in practice. You are constantly immersed in new topics and gain new knowledge, which is very important for me in my job. That's why SCCH is the best choice for me. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗖𝗖𝗛? In addition to my passion for software, I also have a great passion for the film genre and writing. In my free time, I often draft scenes, scripts and the like. I keep myself physically fit with regular strength training in the gym, supplemented by running. Of course, gaming is not neglected either. #scch #scch #softwarescience #datascience #LLM #AI #datenmanagement #machinelearning #hagenberg #informatik
