This is a different type of post from me, but for those who may not know: Formula 1 is a great interest of mine. Beyond the thrill of racing, I’ve become increasingly fascinated by the business side—especially as F1 expands its reach, notably into the US market, driving new partnerships and attracting a growing fanbase. Today, I had the privilege of attending a session with Dan Mayoll, Cost Cap Financial Controller at Red Bull Racing & Red Bull Technology. Dan provided insights into the financial side of F1, from compliance with FIA financial regulations, technical partnerships and the ongoing need to adapt in a sport where things are always changing—from crashes to upgrades. One key takeaway for me was hearing Dan’s advice on building a career in F1. He emphasized the importance of skill, timing, and a touch of luck, noting that the rapidly evolving landscape of F1 will bring new career opportunities across various roles. As someone passionate in sustainability, it was also encouraging to hear about the team’s commitment to integrating sustainability into their strategy—a development I look forward to watching closely. A huge thank you to the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School for this opportunity and to Dan Mayoll for the insights. This session stood out as one I felt compelled to share—an incredible experience for any F1 and business enthusiast!
