From the POV of my area of work, reflecting on the complexities of India's new generation is both humbling and inspiring. From grassroots advocacy in Chand Kari to Sia Malik Arjuna's innovative strides in Telangana, their journeys underscore the stark disparities and untapped potential across our nation. This documentary vividly portrays the resilience and aspirations of India's youth amidst economic disparity, gender inequity, and cultural diversity. It's a poignant reminder that while progress is palpable, many communities still grapple with profound challenges. Sonam's struggle in Bihar echoes the harsh realities faced by millions, urging us to redouble our efforts in creating sustainable solutions. Yet, amidst these disparities, there's a unifying thread of hope and determination. Simon's commitment to amplify rural women's voices and Sia Malik Arjuna's entrepreneurial zeal exemplify the transformative power of grassroots initiatives and innovative solutions. Their stories reaffirm my belief in the potential for meaningful change through empathy, empowerment, and community-driven action. Let's embrace these learnings to drive inclusive development and foster a society where every individual, regardless of background, can thrive. Together, we can rewrite the narrative and build a brighter future for all. 🌍💫 #SocialChange #InclusiveDevelopment #Empowerment https://lnkd.in/ds7hdQdf

I write on how #India's #growth path to becoming the world's third largest #economy by 2027 is much, much easier to pull off than its ambition of becoming a 'developed' economy by 2047. India's best-off states are its smallest ones, and the gap between regions is growing. The centre can provide resources, but transformation won't be possible without the active participation of government and society at the state level in India's most distressed regions. #development #politicaleconomy #southasia #asia #GDP #GNI #GINI #inequality #HDI #BRICS #globalsouth #indopacific #quad #bharat #emergingeconomies #G20 #indiaeconomy #makeinindia

The article "Economic Growth vs. Social Justice: A Revolution Brewing in South Asia?" explores the gap between economic progress and social justice in South Asian countries like India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. While these nations boast economic growth, they fail to address deep-rooted social inequalities, particularly in the treatment of minorities. India’s caste and religious discrimination, Pakistan’s persecution of ethnic and religious groups, and Bangladesh’s youth-led protests against elite policies reveal the imbalance between development and justice. The article suggests that if these inequalities persist, social unrest and even revolution may follow, highlighting the need for inclusive policies that balance economic and social progress. An incredible development that did cut through the clutter (read mainstream media news) as deserved. Key excerpt below🔽 ......."Incidentally, the decline in HCR at the higher poverty line is remarkable given that in the past it took 30 years for India to witness a similar decline in poverty levels as now witnessed over 11 years". *Not a political endorsement but it couldn't have been possible without continuous political stability at a national level. #indianeconomy #povertyalleviation #digitalinclusion #economicgrowth https://lnkd.in/e8gfJJAD

"I want to make this country a zero-poverty nation, with zero-poverty states and zero-poverty villages. Otherwise, even if we emerge as the number one economy, poor people will remain. It is not good for the nation. This is where I need your thoughts, and we will work in that direction," he said. Naidu stated that the endmost goal for every Indian should be to convey to the global community that "there is no poverty in India. October 17 is observed as the United Nations’ International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, a day dedicated to addressing the global fight against poverty. The theme for this year is "Ending the abuse of social and institutional structures: Working together for a fair, peaceful, and inclusive society." This theme emphasizes the crucial role of promoting economic growth and creating decent job opportunities in poverty eradication. It calls attention to the need for an equal employment environment that offers fair wages, protects workers' rights, and ensures the comprehensive growth of marginalized populations. It also highlights the importance of fostering creativity, innovation, and self-sufficiency by including individuals of all ages, particularly from marginalized communities, in skill development and empowerment programs. Today, around 1 billion people globally live in extreme poverty, lacking basic living conditions, with 27.5% of India's population classified as poor. Countless children suffer from malnutrition, and one-third of annual global deaths are linked to poverty. Achieving a poverty-free world is essential for humanity's development. Systemic changes are needed to promote economic stability, decent income, education, healthcare, and equality, ensuring everyone's right to live with dignity. Long-term policies and initiatives must be implemented to positively impact the lives of those affected by poverty. Poverty is a human rights violation, and we must unite to ensure these rights are upheld. Every individual deserves access to the resources and opportunities for a dignified life. . . #EndPoverty #UNDayForPoverty #SocialJustice #EconomicGrowth #WorkersRights #Empowerment #HumanRights #DignityForAll
