A true American hero and patriot. 💙💙💙💙
Why are those in power continually doing things to prevent the current generation from understanding America's history? Taking down statues, renaming streets, etc. Why?
“Young people can understand, and must understand, that we had success, we had failures, but we never gave up. We never gave in. We never became bitter. We didn't hate. We continued to press on. And that's what we're saying: There are some ups, there are some downs, and when you're not down, you must have the capacity and the ability to get up and keep going.” John Lewis
This is very deep and meaningful. Now Congress needs to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights bill. The late Representative John Lewis (D-Georgia) was a towering figure in the Civil Rights movement. He literally shed blood for voting rights Americans honor him and will not allow the erosion of voting rights by the right wing to continue.
Awesome! He was a truly courageous man.
That’s awesome and fitting!.
An amazing man, An American Hero!
Is Stone Mountain next? 🤔
Removing the ugly history instead of placing the good adjacent to the bad is leaving history open to be un-written. The ugly history made this country, and progressing away from it means it can eventually be eliminated. What better way to make it seems as if this country has always been equal for everyone, which we know is a lie. Some areas are already attempting to eliminate the history of conquering by European colonizers who slaughtered for profit, murdered for land, and bought and sold humans as cheap labor. Careful what you ask for. The future will turn into just another falsehood.
