It pains me to the core that the trend of AI-generated UGC seems to be gaining traction if not awareness alone. The thing about AI is it needs to solve more problems than it creates. Leveraging AI to create USER-GENERATED content (UGC) is deceitful by definition and will slowly erode the efficacy and effectiveness of UGC. Marketers aren't just shooting themselves in the foot by using AI to deepfake their customers. They're shooting everyone in the foot by killing off what little credence UGC has left in the minds of consumers. Authenticity is what makes UGC effective! You take that away and you're left with hot garbage. Marketers, I beg you. Don't trade authenticity for short-term gains!
