Mixing Apple Vision Pro with sport!
Another excellent post by Ultan O.
This time on bringing Sport home so we can see the whole picture.
I admit I see a stronger use-case in sports like #football, #rugby or #americanfootball.
When watching via TV. I often find myself missing the ability to see how the whole team is playing together. The team dynamics as they move and clash with each other.
In sports like #cricket and #basball being able to watch how field placements change can be critical to understanding how a team is responding to a change in batter or bowler.

Yeah this is cool, watching the same content in largely the same way (flat screen) but through AR goggles doesn’t interest me much - the idea of having multiple screens and massive viewing space is neat though). But new formats, layouts, rich info, interaction, personalised viewing angles, first person real time views of sports action etc, now that’s something I’d put some weird ski mask things on my face for!

The world's first screenless laptop has arrived: #sightful is giving #apple a run for its money as #spatialcomputing heats up. Spacetop G1 can be reserved for $100 at sightful.com, and should ship in October this year for $1,900.
Expect #samsung to make a big announcement too, during the Olympics, live from Paris!
Will spatial computing replace #ai as the theme for 2025? I think so!

Israeli company Insightful has unveiled its Spacetop G1 device, a laptop utilizing spatial computing to provide users with an AR 'monitor' through glasses. Ranked 25th on Calcalist’s Most Promising Startups list, Sightful plans to release the Spacetop G1 in October. The device aims to revolutionize the laptop market with its spatial operating system, SpaceOS, based on Android, which supports tools like Google, Office 365, and Zoom.
The Spacetop G1 is designed to offer a large workspace on the go, aiming to free users from the constraints of traditional 14” screens. CEO and Co-Founder Tamir Berliner emphasizes the importance of AR glasses as a first step in overcoming the physical limitations of current AR technology. The device boasts an 8-hour battery life and features hardware developed in partnership with Qualcomm, Wistron, and XREAL. The glasses, equipped with magnetic prescription lenses, deliver a resolution of 1920x1080 per eye and are connected to the laptop via a wire.
Unlike more immersive AR devices like Apple’s Vision Pro, the Spacetop G1 focuses on productivity rather than virtual environments. It provides a practical AR experience for tasks like document editing and video conferencing, without the need for users to engage in exaggerated gestures.
During a demo with CTech, the Spacetop G1 proved user-friendly, with floating windows for various productivity apps that could be easily manipulated. However, the device’s 52-degree field of vision can feel restrictive, and its dimming function, which blacks out surrounding environments, poses challenges for seeing the keyboard. Sightful suggests potential future improvements with AI assistance.
Priced at $1900 with a $100 reservation fee, the Spacetop G1 is ideal for remote work, though it may not serve as a primary device for heavy computing tasks like gaming or design. Sightful’s vision is that, similar to the transition from BlackBerry to smartphones, users will gradually adopt the Spacetop G1 as their main computer.
Founded in 2020, Sightful employs over 60 people and has secured more than $61 million in funding. The company is headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, with offices in Palo Alto, Los Angeles, Taiwan, and Singapore. Co-founders Tamir Berliner and Tomer Kahan bring extensive experience from their roles at PrimeSense, Magic Leap, and N-Trig.

The world's first screenless laptop is launching. I do hope the current endless MS Teams integration issues can be fixed! I suspect I am not alone in tearing my hair out daily with MS Teams. 🤔🤔
A screenless laptop opens up many opportunities regarding where to physically work.
However, I'm not looking forward to the IT security questions large organisations will ask at the procurement stage. It's bad enough now with the physical laptop needing to be locked up every night with data protection concerns 🙏
Thanks for sharing this exciting news, Catherine D Henry .

The tech world is abuzz with the arrival of the world's first screenless laptop, #sightless, which is poised to give #apple some serious competition as #spatialcomputing gains momentum. Rumor has it that #samsung is gearing up to make a major announcement during the Olympics in Paris, so stay tuned for that!
Many industry experts are speculating whether spatial computing will overshadow #ai as the dominant theme in 2025. Personally, I believe that the potential of spatial computing is so significant that it could indeed take center stage in the tech world by 2025.

From keyboards and touchscreens to voice control and spatial awareness, the evolution of computer interfaces over the last 40 years has been fascinating!
But not everything is new - remember the old DOS days when we had to type in prompts to start our computer?
Fortunately, we can put this knowledge to good use again today 🤓
And who knows? With innovations like Apple’s Vision Pro, we could soon experience a world in which technology merges seamlessly with our physical environment and the boundaries between digital and reality become blurred.
