Today, I received an email 12 minutes before my scheduled interview, informing me that the position had been filled, and the interview was canceled. While I understand that hiring needs change and sometimes things move quickly, I believe that more transparency and communication in the process would make a huge difference for candidates.
For jobseekers like myself, every opportunity is a big deal. We prepare, plan, and put in a lot of effort to show up at our best. It's incredibly frustrating, upsetting, and even disappointing when potential employers don't put in the same effort and respect for us. Last-minute changes happen, but treating candidates with respect and courtesy should always remain a top priority. That's no way to treat others, in a professional setting or otherwise.
To those who are also experiencing these hurdles, remember you’re not alone, and keep pushing forward. Job hunting can be tough, but each step is a learning experience, and I trust the right opportunity will come.
P.S., I’m still actively seeking new opportunities in SEO, copywriting, or web design. If you know of any roles that might be a good fit, don't hesitate to reach out to me! It would be much appreciated. :)
