How can executive coaching help you become a better leader/manager? We’ve all been there when the day just becomes too much for us. It is sometimes difficult to manage the way we interact with our colleagues, team members, other managers, and customers. The challenge in these moments is to not become defensive, revert to negative behaviors, or focus on having to be right. Coaching can help you expand your self-awareness, so that when you are faced with a personal or workplace challenge, you respond as your best self. By taking accountability for our actions, by being aware of them, we can avoid the following credibility undermining thoughts and behaviors. For example, when things don't go your way, you will be able to embrace the challenge and avoid rationalization, defensiveness, denial, aggressiveness, blame, isolation, passive aggressiveness, and deflection. Coaching can help you to take accountability for your feelings in the moment, help you to move on during challenges and to respond positively to set-backs, by asking “What could I have done differently to make the situation better?” That is one of the benefits of coaching.
