Bearing in mind I sit in front of a computer and record myself on an (almost!) daily basis, I cannot tell you how many takes it took to record this advert for TikTok. In fact, I can. Over 40 attempts!!! It appears I can't script myself for toffee. But, in watching this, I love watching the passion and the twinkle in my eyes. I love teaching Maths. I can't think of any other career I'd want more. Taking students from "I hate Maths" to "I'm smashing it" over and over again gives me a thrill. Creating good quality resources is challenging and opens myself to criticism, but WOW is it rewarding when students (and teachers) tell me that they think I'm a GOAT. Yes. I had to look it up as I thought they were being somewhat rude ') If you're looking for something different. Something to replace the current "market leaders" with a Maths presenter who is consistently engaging and receives over 99.95% positive feedback on YouTube etc then look to www.maffsguru.com. Teachers can have free access. Just sign up and follow the instructions which will be sent to you. School subscriptions are much, much, much cheaper than the competition and I'm told over and over again, much better quality. And far more engaging. And I am adding an online exam taker. VCAA exams online with immediate feedback, answers, links to revision and more. LYRIC: Ahhh I got a thirst for knowledge. Well I wouldn't say that I exactly have a thirst for knowledge, but I do like trying to learn and do new things. I also do not like formal education to learn things as the static wrote learning way that we were and often still are taught things just didn't work for me. Learning is the process through which knowledge is acquired, understood, and applied. It involves not just memorising things, but also the ability to analyse, evaluate and apply information. Learning is an ongoing process that adapts and evolves as new experiences and information are encountered. It is through learning that one builds the capacity to think critically, solve problems, and innovate. Unlike knowledge, learning is deeply personal and continuous, tailored to the individual’s experiences, interests, and environment. So maybe I have a thirst for learning (my own way) and not knowledge and that's the thing. The difference between knowledge and learning is crucial in understanding the true purpose of education. While knowledge is the "what," learning is the "how" and "why." Education's ultimate goal should be not just to impart knowledge, but to create lifelong learners who can adapt in an ever-changing world. Have a great weekend.
