5 benefits of better ATS data + a 7-step checklist to improve data quality: Learn how to improve data quality: But first, 5 benefits of better ATS data: - Lower candidate acquisition costs - Enhance candidate, client, and employee experience - Improve conversion percentages - Increase engagement rates - Reduce admin effort 7-step checklist to improve ATS data quality: 1 - Enable self-service Allow candidates/clients to view and update their own information easily. Recruiters love it, better data quality with no admin effort. Candidate/clients love it, more personalized and relevant engagement. 2 - Notify/alert when key information is missing Pounce on missing client/candidate key information right away. You'll have the best chance of getting that fixed. X amount of time passes, think about archiving/cleaning up. 3 - Audit your intake channels Poor data in makes your data problem worse. Quality data in makes your data problem better. Audit all intake methods and fix issues. 4 - Fix duplicates Every database has this problem, fix it. Eliminate the frustration in trying to find the correct record. Example: Candidate applies to job and doesn't have job title, desired pay, etc. Copy that information from the job they applied to, to their candidate profile. 6 - If its not in the database, it didn't happen Make this your mantra and you're on your way to better data already. Show the benefits to get your internal teams on board with this philosophy. Focus on process, training, and reporting to achieve the full vision. 7 - ATS as single source of truth Ensure tech you use integrates fully with your ATS. Increase compliance, make data easier to find, and gain a holistic view. It's a journey, keep making progress. Recap: 1 - Enable self-service 2 - Notify/alert when key information is missing 3 - Audit your intake channels 4 - Fix duplicates 5 - Find entryless data update opportunities 6 - If its not in the database, it didn't happen 7 - ATS as single source of truth Every client I've worked with had opportunities to improve their data.
