Top Five Tips for PTS*: 1. Be clear about your expectations, including when you want to be picked up, where, and if there is any particular route you'd like to take. 2. If no fare has been quoted, confirm the approximate price and that there are no "surprise" charges, like 'surge pricing'. 3. Should you ever feel unsafe, call a friend or family member and, with them on speaker, tell the Driver that you want them to pull over at the closest safe location. You do not owe the Driver any explanation, and cannot be charged for any part of the travel that you did not take. 4. Try not to coax the Driver into any unsafe or illegal course of action, like "It's ok to run that light" or "I need you to go faster." For you it is one ride, but if a Driver gets a ticket, it could be the end of his/her employment. 5. Be courteous, insomuch as not eating, drinking, vaping or smoking in a vehicle. The Driver is getting you from Point A to Point B - not providing a mobile lounge for you to be messy, inconsiderate or rude. * PTS is an acronym used for "Passenger Transportation Service"

Are you aware of the importance of the face width of your tire and support rollers? As a general rule of thumb, the face width of your tire should not be the same as, nor wider than, the face width of your support rollers. This week, I've had several conversations with new customers who have experienced issues due to this common oversight. While each unit was from a different OEM, both manufacturers failed to pay attention to the details that make a world of difference. It's inevitable that your unit will thrust in one direction or the other, due to changes in production levels, weather conditions, or other factors. When this happens, your tire will move off the roller, causing wear and tear that may require costly replacements. To avoid this, we recommend at least a 1" difference in face width between your support rollers and tire. For units that run at higher temperatures, a wider face on the support roller may be necessary. Remember, the details matter in the overall health and maintenance budget of your unit. Let your support rollers catch the movement and allow for additional room for your tire to rotate on when your unit thrusts in one direction. Take care of your equipment and it will take care of you!

So your daughter has graduated and started her new job. She comes home with her signing bonus and asks you, "Dad, what is the best car to buy?" As the many options start coming to mind, you consider what algorithm to run them through. How should I rank the most important criteria - Safety? Reliability? Quality? Economy? And how do I explain these concepts to her when I know perfectly well that her priorities are different from mine, that the final choice may well come down to the available color. To be honest, this is the scenario that comes to my mind when someone at a conference asks me, "Ed, who makes the best wireless condition monitoring sensor out there?" To respond with a quick, shoot-from-the-hip answer does you a disservice, so my response is generally something like 'It depends, I really can't give you a black or white answer, I'd have to ask you some questions first…" What I am really suggesting is "Why don't you consider retaining my services, and we'll talk it over…" Maybe you are confused by the claims made by the many vendors banging on your door. Maybe you've started your own list and quickly got bogged down with specifications you don't really understand. Perhaps some education would be helpful, a workshop is often a good way to start the conversation. Whatever approach works, let's give ourselves a chance to work through your options with a process more likely to result in some better decisions. #WirelessConditionMonitoring #WirelessVibrationSensor #IIoT #ReliabilityEngineering #PredictiveMaintenance #PdM #SMRP

For last three days, same report was coming that one of our stand FCO area lights automatically get OFF at 7pm, due to which operator face dark and unsafe while Climbing stairs up and down. Last day, given job to my team. Attained but no response given till 2pm. At 2pm, that stand operator came to report When I asked my team they told that the timer is defective and need to change. So, I went to the site and saw the timer, the timer is 24hours general ON-OFF timer, in that 110V to 220V supply can be given. The power is given in A1 and looped to 15 terminal port. The output is taken from 18 terminal port. There is also other output terminal port 16, this will be active whenTimer is OFF, I.e. Timer time set is OFF. During Timer Time set point 15 and 18 will be active. Saw the time set points, got that the timer time is set wrong, it's 4pm to 7pm everyday. So, lights get OFF automatically by 7pm. Now edited and set time from 5pm to 6am. Then taught the timer to my team. If knowledge is missing, please ask to your subordinates.

Had the chance to step in and recover a Cat 950 recently, and it highlighted something important: it’s not always about the lowest price—it’s about getting the details right! When quoting a move like this, accuracy matters. Double-checking dimensions, weight, and handling needs upfront can save time, money, and stress down the line. Asking questions early ensures no surprises later—especially with a machine as large as the Cat 950! 📏 It’s not about bidding the lowest—it’s about delivering value by fully understanding what the job requires. A thorough plan means smoother moves, stronger partnerships, and fewer headaches for everyone. 🤝 Let’s aim for precision, not just price. Because when we take the time to get it right, everyone wins. 💪 #ActionHeavyHaul #LogisticsLife #FreightBrokering #ValueInDetails #SmartMoves #Cat950

Here are some things we can do: -Start looking ahead & planning to ship anything you can either prior to the week of May 14th or after if possible. Keep in mind things will not “instantly rebound” the following week, there will likely still be carryover capacity constraints the following week. -If you have anything time-sensitive, especially LTL shipments, plan to ship them early if you can. -Identify if you have any loads that have flexibility on the pickup & delivery dates. The more day(s) we can talk to trucks, the more likely we’ll find one that is a great fit for the load and be able to get a better rate.
Happy DOT Blitz Week Eve! Also known as CVSA International Roadcheck, DOT Blitz week is the Department of Transportation's largest annual inspection and enforcement week. The DOT will conduct over 65,000 inspections of trucks across the country. Non-compliance can lead to fines, penalties, and carriers becoming temporarily out of service until compliance is restored. What does this mean for you, brokers? A couple of things: 🚚 Expect tightened capacity across the country: Many carriers opt to take the week off rather than drive while inspections are highly likely. 😬 Understand your drivers are dealing with a stressful week: As always, carrier relationships must be built over time with empathy and trust, and this is one of the more stressful weeks of the spring. ⏰ Prep for carrier delays: Between unexpected inspections and changing schedules, be sure to build buffer time to ensure strong compliance and shipper satisfaction. See attached for a survival guide! What tips do you have for a successful DOT Blitz Week?
