International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie)’s Post

Universal health coverage is essential, especially in developing countries where access to healthcare remains limited. The ISPV-Africa project in Togo is pioneering digital health insurance solutions for vulnerable populations, combining online payment options, home visits, and integrated care to improve healthcare access. Findings from the pilot phase emphasize the importance of trust-building through personalized services and targeted communication significantly in improving uptake and renewals. Offering varied care packages based on needs and addressing past negative experiences are also critical in ensuring continued usage of the insurance services.
