The Announcement today of Elliot's stake in Scottish Mortgage reminded me of the last big trust they were involved with, Alliance Trust. With the pressure on Alliance Trust, on the 30th May 2016 news broke that RIT Capital Partners may be interested in buying/merging with Alliance Trust. What had happened since this approach I wondered? Shareholders in Alliance Trust have enjoyed a 135.4% share price uplift which is in stark contrast to the 12.4% increase in RIT Capital Partners share price. Yes 12.4%. #investment trusts #aic
