With Power comes investments and responsibilities, but without Accountability will there be Sustainability? #development One of the strongest but often neglected SDGs is No. 16 Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions. The main reason is because not everyone faces external conflicts or experiences war like situations. Most of the population live in bubbles and ignorance which causes distorted developments and skewed scales of growth. But honestly, how long can you work and sustain during conflicts and emergencies? Similarly another important one is SDG 17. It talks about partnerships and need for collaborations to achieve the 17 Goals. But often people and agencies end up competing and hijacking community efforts. Tokenism and Meaningful dignified participantion are very different. Tokenism divest decades of work done by grassroots organisations. Does Investments always bring Development? Equity and Justice can’t be achieved only by investing more and more but by making the agencies accountable of the choices they make while investing. Who’s Wellbeing are we talking about here?
