Enhancement of Cross-Border Payments and Digital Innovation in Payments, Clearing, and Settlements are two of the three key themes of the Bank for International Settlements – BIS's Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI)'s 2024–25 work program. As the first project in the world to date that has demonstrated the capability not only to meet but also to significantly surpass the targets set in the G20 cross-border payments roadmap well ahead of deadlines in today's capital markets and without dependency on cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, or CBDCs (but designed to interoperate with them when they become widely adopted), PayNetX aims to play a major role in improving the global financial ecosystem in a frictionless way, addressing both of these themes. The CPMI previously acknowledged the role of innovative DLT-powered financial market infrastructures and their implications in payment versus payment (PvP) settlement to reduce FX risks.
