Happy November! As we kick off the month, we’re reflecting on some key takeaways from the recent World Series and how they relate to construction. Just like in baseball, where patience, strategy, and teamwork drive success, the construction and rebar industry thrives on careful planning, adapting to challenges, and staying focused over the long haul. Every project is a bit like a season -- success builds from collaboration and a solid game plan. At The City Rebar, we’re here to solve your rebar challenges, whether you need quick estimates or a dedicated team for major projects. We believe in clear communication and teamwork, knowing that, just like in baseball, every role contributes to the final outcome. Let’s work together for long-lasting success. Your biggest success depends on this... The sooner you identify, the better. The parable of the bricklayers: Three bricklayers are asked: “What are you doing?” The first says, “I am laying bricks.” The second says, “I am building a church.” And the third says, “I am building the house of God.” The first bricklayer has a job. The second has a career. The third has a calling. Which one are you? -------- If you liked reading it, follow Priya Soni Pandit for more.

Flicking the bird at the status quo | Award Winning Rebel🏴☠️| Most Influential Woman in Construction 2024 | Women’s Safety, PPE & Retention Specialist | Speaker | Mining Geologist | Bold as Brass Tribe Founder
This makes me so happy Ibstock Plc 🧱 I love how this is the perfect example of the amount of industry that comes before the laying of bricks. 👑 The bricklaying kings of construction would have us believe they are the construction industry (#notallbricklayers) and that there isn’t a place for women (or anyone but a very small subset of male human without intersections) in construction because of our body composition 🪨 But before the laying of bricks comes the making of the bricks, be it by Ollie or automated, and before that comes the mining of the raw materials, and those people who work before and after the mining and the making; the geologists, the lab technicians, the engineers, the designers, the architects, the environmentalists, the surveyors, logistics crews, the safety and business professionals. 👏🏻 We are all part of a massive team. The industry wouldn’t exist without each of us, and each of us has an important role. 🧒🏽And that’s before we start to think about the external teams who let us do our jobs, like those who care for our kids and dependents so we can add our strengths and skills to society whilst earning a crust. 🦺 I also love how this video shows how much Ollie needs PPE that fits so he isn’t fighting against it and at increased risk of injury. It’s great to see more companies highlighting workers like John, although I don’t know him I do know just how much experience, knowledge and learning points people like John bring to the trade and the construction industry as a whole. If we’re going to hit any realistic house building targets in the future, or have any worthwhile home grown talent for future generations and not be wholly reliant on external/imported trades then we need to keep the Johns of the industry and not loose them to the loss of grandfather rights and other completely self destructive ideas that are being brought in by people who haven’t lived the life. Keep batting John! #housebuilding #grandfatherrights #construction #CSCS #industryAccreditation(IA)
JOHN MONAGHAN John is currently working on our development in Diggle for Redrow. At the ripe old age of 71 he will give most bricklayers a run for their money. One thing most other bricklayers will not match is his quality and his desire to do a good job. It’s an absolute pleasure having John working with Apex Yorkshire. A true master craftsman we can all learn a thing or two from. #redrow #bricklayer #mastercraftsman

The Bricklayer’s Success: Selling the Vision 🧱💡 There was once a busy construction site where two bricklayers worked side by side. Both were skilled, hardworking, and equally experienced, laying bricks one by one. One day, a passerby asked them what they were doing. The first bricklayer replied, “I’m just laying bricks. It’s a long, tiring job, but I have to do it to earn a living.” The same passerby asked the second bricklayer the same question. With a smile, he replied, “I’m not just laying bricks—I’m building a cathedral! This will be a place where people gather, celebrate, and find peace for generations to come. I’m part of something bigger!” Years later, the first bricklayer was still working on small projects, earning his daily wage with little enthusiasm. The second bricklayer, however, had become the project manager of large construction sites, leading teams and inspiring others. What was the difference? The second bricklayer didn’t just see his task as laying bricks—he saw the bigger picture and sold that vision to everyone around him. His passion and ability to connect with the broader purpose of his work drew attention, and his career grew because of it. The Moral? Sales isn’t just about the product or service itself; it’s about selling the vision and purpose behind it. Whether you’re selling a simple product or a complex solution, helping your customers see the bigger picture—how it fits into their goals, dreams, or needs—creates value beyond the sale. Successful sales professionals don’t just sell products—they sell possibilities. #SalesStrategy #VisionAndPurpose #CustomerEngagement #BusinessDevelopment #SalesMatters #SalesSuccess #Inspiration #BusinessGrowth
