This is precisely the approach we took with Ambela, Carys Whittaker's new clothing line that's now part of the Iconek portfolio.
Carys isn't your typical social media sensation. We weren't drawn to her follower count (which, by the way, has skyrocketed from 600k when we met to a staggering 1.8 million and keeps climbing) – we were captivated by her raw, relatable content that champions inclusivity and body acceptance.
Carys' message resonated deeply with us, and together, we embarked on an 18-month journey to create Ambela. This wasn't and is not a quick cash grab.
The biggest challenge?
Developing high-quality, durable, and stretchy denim that actually fits a wide range of bodies, from size 6 to 26. We meticulously crafted size guides and perfected the fabric weight to achieve a balance between comfort and that premium denim feel.
Ambela is a testament to the power of authentic partnerships. It's not just about the influencer's/celebrities' reach; it's about aligning with a purpose-driven voice that genuinely connects with a community.
But our vision extended beyond the initial launch. We weren't solely relying on Carys' influence. We built a robust foundation for long-term success.
