https://lnkd.in/dixqAuy3 This is my latest piece on farmers realising that organic farming mirrors the sustainability concepts of Global Agriculture. In summary; Organic farming increases the ability to face the adverse effects of climate change by increasing resilience within the agroecosystem. It creates potent and environmentally sound farming systems that are resilient to temperature fluctuations, and drought and which avoid soil erosion. Organic farming also promotes sustainable and environmentally friendly management, conservation practices, and restoration activities. 🌍 Insect Farming and the Future of Sustainable Aquafeeds 🌱 Insect farming is rapidly gaining traction as a sustainable solution for aquafeeds, with Black Soldier Flies (BSF) leading the charge. 🐛 According to Dean Smorenburg, CEO of Maltento, the ability to convert organic waste into high-value animal feed and fertilizers has the potential to revolutionize both Africa and the global economy. 🌾🌍 With over €1.5 billion invested in EU insect-producing companies and significant environmental savings, including 78% reduced CO2 emissions, insect farming is showing immense promise for the aquaculture industry. Despite some challenges, the future is bright for sustainable protein alternatives. Crop rotation systems are essential practices in sustainable agriculture, designed to enhance soil health, improve crop yields, and reduce the dependency on chemical inputs. By systematically alternating different crops on the same land over time, farmers can create a more balanced ecosystem that promotes biodiversity and minimizes the risk of pest and disease outbreaks. #GeneralAgriculture

I found the article on vertical farming's impact on our planet quite intriguing. The statistics and implementation process highlighted the significant benefits this practice offers, with pros clearly outweighing cons. Reflecting on the future, the crucial question arises: What holds more importance - preserving our planet from the damaging effects of current agricultural practices or continuing practices that harm the soil, us, and the oceans through the use of toxic fertilizers and pesticides? The neglect of the symbiotic relationship between plant life and humans, whether through rushed harvesting practices or harsh machinery, results in a decline in crop nutritional value from the start. This underscores the value of cultivating with love and prioritizing quality over quantity. Nurturing and growing your own food, plants, or flowers can yield rewarding results, instilling a deep appreciation for life and fostering a sense of connection to the planet. Engaging in such activities not only brings therapeutic benefits but also reinforces the responsibility to take action towards preserving our planet. Embracing a more mindful approach to cultivation can pave the way for positive change, steering us towards a future where our actions contribute to the betterment and preservation of our planet. #VerticalFarming #Sustainability #PlanetPreservation #QualityOverQuantity
