Automated and manual testing

- [Instructor] If you want to know how accessible your new website is, where would you start? Is hiring an expensive consultant to test your site, the best first step? Accessibility testing is a multi-layered process. I like to think of it as using four phases, like a design review, some automated testing, testing it manually, using tools, and user testing with various types of assistive technology. So where do you start? What types of testing can you do, by yourself with minimal equipment or time? A design review is important, but it is limited. You can identify problem colors, and you can flag problem areas, and forms and buttons or with icons. This is something that should happen, before a design is built. It helps prevent a host of issues from ever being created. Automated testing, either fully automated, or using tools to check a single page, seems like an ideal answer.
