Framing effective learning environments
- Think about a skill you've mastered. Now think back to one instance when you learned this skill. What made it a positive learning experience? Recalling this experience shows how certain factors and environment contributed to mastering the skill. But it's also possible another person in your class may not have had the same positive experience. Learning is a subjective and personal activity, and there isn't one best way to learn. This is why effective trainers consistently create a variety of environments that increase learning opportunities. Developing a learning environment for a particular course is probably the most creative part of training. Trainers are no longer shackled to physical space, like a training room, or told to use certain tools or even forced to deliver content as is.
