Creating a learning culture

- It always surprises me how many experienced trainers will simply walk into a session and just start training. Your job as a trainer is to make sure participants are ready to learn and, more importantly, ready to support their learning journey and those of their peers. I refer to this as establishing a learning culture. Culture is about creating a framework and laying ground rules for the session that leads to a favorable learning environment. Essentially, your goal is to foster a space where people want to learn. Let's dive into the five elements to foster a learning culture within a training session. The first thing I do before reviewing the learning objectives is to state the training session mission. During my prep, I'll challenge myself to summarize in a paragraph the session's intent and goals.
