How to create a networking group of your own
- Creating your own networking group can be really amazing. And it's not as hard as you may think. I want to share a personal story that illustrates this. Over 10 years ago, a buddy and I wanted to spend our time networking with people that we really liked. We didn't want to feel the obligation of walking around trade shows or going to someone else's events in the hopes of meeting someone that we wanted to hang out with. So we decided to start a networking group of our own with people that we already knew. We found a restaurant with a private room and we each invited 20 people who we thought would be cohesive. The group immediately took on a life of its own even at the first meeting. In fact, neither of us ever had to take center stage.
