Quadrilaterals

Quadrilaterals

- [Voiceover] Quadrilaterals are just four-sided shapes. Let's get you introduced to a few of them that you have to know for the test: The rectangle, and a square is a rectangle with equal sides. A parallelogram: that's a shape that looks like this, and in a parallelogram, this side is parallel to this side, and then these two sides are parallel as well. Then, the trapezoid. The trapezoid looks like that. We call the top and the bottom the bases, and those are parallel, and then these sides are not. Those sides just connect the bases. A few points you might need to know about quadrilaterals: how to get the perimeter. It's the same way we get a perimeter of any shape. We just add up all the sides. So, perimeter is equal to all sides added. For instance, if my rectangle had a long side of six and a short side of three, I would know that this side is also three and this side is also six, because these two sides of a rectangle are going to be equal, and then the short sides will be as…
