- [Instructor] You can learn a lot about your organization's performance when you analyze past values. And even though past performance is no guarantee of future results, you can use those values as a guide to forecast future values. In this movie, I will show you how to create a forecast using existing data, how to change yearly summary data to monthly if you're underlying data source supports it, and also how to get around a common problem using forecast. My sample file is the Forecast Workbook and you can find it in the chapter five folder of your exercise files collection. This visualization is at a very high level of detail. What I see is a sum of total spending for the years 2015 and 2016. And I created this visualization by dragging Order Date to the columns area or column shelf and TotalSpending, this calculated field here, to the rows shelf. And this is what I get. I'd really rather see data at a monthly level. So to do that I can go up to the YEAR pill on the column shelf…
