Creating pie charts
- [Instructor] You can often gain important insights into your data by creating a pie chart, which displays the contributions of several parts to a total. For example, you could display the quantity of orders by product category, with each wedge of the pie, representing a individual category. In this movie, I will show you how to create a pie visualization. My sample file is a tablet workbook called Pie and you can find it in the Chapter 10 folder of your Exercise Files collection. I'm starting with a blank sheet and the first thing I want to do is add my product category. So I'll go over to the Data panel point to the Product Category pill, click its down arrow and click Add to Sheet. There it is. Now I want to add the quantity of items ordered so I'll go down under Measures, point to Quantity click the down arrow and click Add to Sheet. And there I have a simple data table. With the text table in place, I can now create a pie chart based on that. So I'll go to the right edge of the…
