Creating column and stacked column charts
- [Instructor] One of the most common ways to summarize categories of data is by using bar charts. A bar chart can use either horizontal or vertical bars to show the magnitude of values across a range of categories. Those categories could be business departments or they could be categories of expenses. In this movie, I will show you how to create these types of charts. My sample file is called Column and you can find it in the chapter 10 folder of the exercise files collection. The first thing we need to do is to add our fields to the visualization. So I'll go to the data panel and under Order Details I'll point to Order Date. Click the down arrow and click Add to Sheet so it goes to the columns area. Then I'll go under Products and click the Product Category pills down arrow and click Add to Sheet. And it goes to rows. And then I'll go down under measures, point at Quantity, click the down arrow and add that as well. So there I have my values. They're in a text table, but I want to…
