Creating a treemap

- [Narrator] The treemap, which is a relatively new type of chart, displays values as they contribute to a whole. Like a pie chart, a treemap uses the size of the area devoted to an input to indicate its contribution. Unlike a pie chart though, a treemap also uses shades of color to help indicate the value. Darker shades generally mean larger values, lighter shades smaller, and even negative values can be indicated using treemap colors. In this movie I will show you how to create treemaps based on your business data. My sample file is the treemap Tableau workbook and you can find it in the chapter ten folder of your exercise files collection. The data source that I have brought into this workbook contains four different values. There are Property City, Property ID and Property State as dimensions, and then my measure is revenue change. So what I'm doing is checking the change in revenue for hotels in the different cities for which I have collected data. With that in place I can create…
