Changing the order of the fields in a visualization
- [Narrator] After you create a visualization in Tableau, you can change the organization of your data by manipulating the order of its fields. In this movie, I will show you how to reorder and reorganize the fields within your visualization. My sample file is the ChangeOrder Tableau workbook, and you can find it in the Chapter02 folder of your Exercise Files collection. I don't have a visualization or a layout here in this particular workbook, so I'll go ahead and create it. What I'll do is I will drag a product category to the Columns area, so go over to the Data area and drag Product Category to the Columns area, and then I will drag Property City to the Rows shelf here, which is available, and then I'll put in my Quantity data in the body of the table. So I'll go down to the Measures group, drag Quantity in, and there I have all of my data. And I'll just change the width of some of these columns, so I'll drag Furnishings over, and Housekeeping over, and there we go. Let's say that…
