Use Ariba to facilitate collaboration - SAP ERP Tutorial

- [Matthew] Hi, I'm Matthew Hunt, I'm your instructor for the Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration Course. First, let me introduce myself. I've been a designer, developer, and I've also taught SAP for over 16 years. I'm currently a solution architect in the manufacturing and supply chain space at one of the world's largest consumer product goods companies. My experience on both the information technology side, as well as the business side, in supply chain, has made me a leading expert in SAP Production Planning, Materials Management, Logistics Execution, and Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration. I've traveled the globe teaching and speaking in various industry forums. And I'm passionate about advancing the knowledge or other's knowledge in SAP. So before we begin, this is just a letter that I like to give to all my students just to encourage them throughout the course. I'm a big believer in continuing education. I think these courses offer you an opportunity to do that and I just want to congratulate you. So I won't read this letter but feel free to read through it on your own. So let's jump into it, as I said this course is SAP Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration. This course is designed for Purchasing and Supply Chain Professional who's interested in knowing more about SAP Ariba's newest product the Supply Chain Collaboration Module. My goals for you to accomplish by taking this course. First that you would understand what Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration is and how it's used. You would grow your knowledge in Supply Chain processes that are used in Ariba. That you could familiarize yourself with the different menus and screens in the Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration tool. And that you show how to download the various reports in Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration. Key topics you'll learn, first understanding why SAP implemented a direct materials solution in Ariba. This is very important, I get this question a lot from people. What's SAP's path with the direct materials in Ariba? And I kind of all of that in the next section as well as in the last section, frequently asked questions. Second, recognize how the purchase to pay process works in SAP Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration. Understand how the forecast collaboration process works. Understanding the basics of supplier managed inventory. Know how to do Consignment transactions and also third party and subcontract processes in Ariba. So we will get down to the transaction levels. I have access to an Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration system. And I've actually done some co-innovation with this team so some of the transactions and screens that I'm going to show you in Ariba, I actually helped design with their software engineers at Ariba. So I'm excited to show some of those to you. Finally, the agenda for this course. As I mentioned, we will start with an overview of the SAP Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration tool. And then we'll go right in to the functional operations of stuff. So we'll go through the entire purchase to pay process inside Ariba. Then I'll show you the forecast collaboration tools. So these are the tools that you use to send suppliers forecast. We'll walk through the supplier managed inventory section. We'll talk about consignment and finally third party and subcontract collaboration. And we'll finish up then with just a few frequently asked questions that I get from people and students.
