- [Instructor] In an earlier session, we discussed monitors and I suggested that you may not need a monitor at all. How would this work? One option is with VNC, an acronym for Virtual Network Computing. VNC allows you to control one computer from another over a network. This is really useful if you use the Raspberry Pi for something other than desktop use. For example, if it's driving a kiosk, taking security pictures, or controlling robotics. In particular, VNC removes the need for a keyboard, mouse, or monitor. You can control your Raspberry Pi remotely and with any computer connected to the internet. Previous versions of Raspbian required the installation of VNC servers and clients. With the latest version of the Raspberry Pi OS, VNC is included. I often use VNC simply to reduce the clutter on my desk. I've hung my Raspberry Pi on the wall, provided it with power and I can experiment with it without even touching it.
