What you should know before watching this course
- [Instructor] The Raspberry PI doesn't require any prior knowledge. It's designed to be useful for classroom instruction, and is easy to set up and get started. If you have some programming experience, you'll be well-prepared to control the Raspberry PI, in particular, any experience you have with Python or Scratch will be helpful. The Raspberry PI can control electronics. So knowledge of circuits and electricity will give you a headstart on the chapter about the general purpose input output pins. However, I don't assume you have any electronics experience, you can complete this course without knowing anything about resistors, transistors, or Ohm's law. If you've used Linux, you'll be pleased to find Raspy is a Linux operating system. The commands and file system will all be very familiar. But in all of this, keep in mind that the Raspberry PI is designed to be a learning tool. So proceed with confidence.
