- Sometimes research appears complicated, it's not. Today you have more options when it comes to gathering information about your audiences. For any PR program, research done right, means you answer detailed questions about your constituents to construct meaningful messages that resonate. You may be aware of two types of research, but here's a refresher, there's primary and secondary. Primary research includes surveys, polls, questionnaires, and focus panels.
