- [Instructor] So how do you approach mixing when it comes to the surround panner versus the 3D object panner? One of my general guidelines is that if I want a track to sound as close as possible to the stereo mix version of a track, I'm going to keep that track as a surround bed versus a 3D object. And if I want the track to maybe have interesting movement, I'm going to use the surround object panner. And by the way, movement is another thing that we're going to cover in this video. We can make the objects move or float in space, not just stay in a fixed position. So let's just play this back. I have our drums here on the left and our mellotron sound on the right. (fast paced electronic music) (fast paced electronic music) So there's that vocal again. It really seems to stand out to me and I do really like it in the back of the mix.
