- [Instructor] So many of my podcasting clients tell me that they chose podcasting over doing a YouTube channel, for instance, because they didn't want to be on video, not because they were embarrassed or shy but because edits are so obvious on video. So let's take a look at how to perform basic editing tasks in Descript. Most podcasts that you hear are edited, even if a few small cuts are made. This can help your listener enjoy their experience and understand you. Here are some editing basics in Descript. And one of the reasons I love Descript is it makes editing so easy because you have the transcript to edit from. First off, if you need to move anything around, you can slip it, and they call it the slip mode, left and right, just by dragging the words. So for instance, I will make the view of the waveform and sentence line down here bigger. I can take this first word and move it over. Let's say I want oh, eight or nine…
