- Sometimes people conflate our two NFRs for this video. Accessibility and usability. And while accessibility does affect usability, they are discreet concepts. Accessibility, pictured on the left, is concerned with creating user experiences that people with disabilities can access, while usability, on the right, is about the quality of the user experience. So with accessibility, we look at whether something has been designed for someone with auditory, physical, visual, or mental disabilities. We would also consider age-related impairments, speech impairments, temporary disabilities, and neurodiverse people, those who process information differently to neurotypical people who make up the majority of the population. With usability, we focus on how something feels to use for our intended audience. Is it easy to navigate? Does the layout make sense to people? Does it feel intuitive to use for our end users?
